We are currently seeking a Client Accounts Manager as part of the Accounting team in our downtown Cleveland office. The Client Accounts Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely collection of accounts and cash receipts applications. Responsibilities include the daily functions of the firm-wide collections efforts, including conducting credit reviews for new and existing clients; inventory review and consultation with attorneys on payment status and efforts; contacting clients regarding payment; coordinating collection efforts with the and other collections staff; developing and preparing inventory (AR and WIP) related reports; maintaining validity and functionality of firm collection software and others as needed; analyzing inventory trends and providing forecasting and other analytics to provide recommendations to management.  The position must develop strong collaborative relationships with attorneys. 

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Review collections status daily; evaluate inventory to identify primary areas of focus;

  • Manage full life-cycle collections relationships and processes for client matters; accounts receivable reports and other pertinent client accounting information;

  • Analyze payment performance; consult with attorneys and billing software regarding payment status; maintain detailed records on collection efforts and status using current collections software. Identify current and potential issues and alert attorneys and management to same;

  • Develop and foster client relationships, both internal and external, establishing connections with key personnel to effectively address inventory issues;

  • Contact clients to obtain payment;

  • Prepare monthly review of top delinquent inventory; prepare additional analysis and reports as needed;

  • Analyze inventory trends and provide forecasting and other analytics to provide recommendations to management;

  • Conduct risk management assessments for new and existing clients;

  • Monitor validity and functionality of the firm’s collections software, including serving as liaison with IT and providing training to colleagues as needed; participate in the evaluation and implementation of new software;

  • Directly supervises collections staff and is responsible for their overall direction, coordination, and evaluation; has a thorough knowledge of all duties performed by staff members

  • Manage year-end collections campaign; manage time off with staff and per department standards

     

 

Requirements

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Business with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in dedicated billing, collections, or account management. Associates degree acceptable if able to demonstrate comparable experience and skill.  Six or more years’ supervisory experience preferred.  Experience working in a law firm or service industry is strongly preferred.

 

Must possess strong negotiation and relationship management skills; able to think critically and solve problems. Provide excellent customer service and have strong communication skills.

 

Must possess strong technical analysis skills and Excel capabilities. Must have working knowledge of automated accounting systems and knowledge of systems such as Aderant and/or Elite preferred.
