Managing Attorney - - Plaintiff’s Personal Injury

Parker Waichman LLP
Nassau County, New York 11003
  • Job Type
    Law Firm Associate
  • Job Status
    Full Time

There is no one so essential to a successful plaintiff’s personal injury law firm as its Managing Attorney. Parker Waichman LLP, one of the country’s leading personal injury firms, is looking for just that person. We seek someone who can join our fast-paced team at our main office in Nassau County, Long Island, New York.  The right person will be that unique combination of lawyer and leader who flourishes in a plaintiff’s practice which knows no geographic or practice-related borders, who is excited by a collaborative, open-door environment where attorneys and staff work together to not only maintain the position and reputation of the firm but continue the forward motion that has been its hallmark all these years. Beyond typical tools of the trade, you can expect to find on your arrival here a custom designed office building devoted solely to this firm and its mission, together with the most modern technologies and trained support personnel.  Nothing is too good for our clients or those that represent their interests.

Strongly prefer an attorney admitted to the New York bar.   Minimum of 15 years of quality personal injury experience required.

Computer proficiency with the willingness to learn new computer software is a must along with strong analytical and organization skills.  To succeed in this position, you must be a leader with a professional ethic that accepts responsibility and demands it from those you lead. Though a hackneyed phrase by modern standards, the words “works and plays well with others” comes instantly to mind. Our staff, both professional and administrative, are very good at what they do. The candidate we choose will be able to secure that baseline and make them even better at it.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Provide direction to and collaborate with other members of the office to maintain litigation docket and calendar

  • Ensure compliance with existing processes (i.e. record all incoming and outgoing documents in docket database, record procedural due dates) with an eye to improve all existing processes and implement others

  • Ability to optimize the organization of the single event, medical malpractice and nursing home case handling

  • Head up weekly meetings with single event, medical malpractice and nursing home staff

  • Extensive knowledge of all filing rules, procedures and judge's individual practices

  • Monitor case progress

  • Respond to all attorney procedural inquiries, discuss trial strategies, discuss legal issues

  • Enhance and enforce client communication protocols

  • Liaise with court personnel

  • Liaise with referring/co-counsel

Competitive salary offered and benefit package provided. Interested parties should submit their resume and cover letter, with desired salary information included, to Ms. Annmarie George, Law Firm Administrator, at ageorge@yourlawyer.com
