Beveridge & Diamond, P.C.’s Seattle office is growing, and is seeking a mid-level environmental associate.

We are looking for a smart, energetic, enthusiastic, and versatile associate to join the Seattle office of the largest environmental law firm in the country.  The ideal candidate will be a third to sixth-year environmental associate who wishes to focus on complex regulatory and compliance counseling issues.  Candidates with substantial litigation experience and experience advising on site cleanup, chemicals regulation, and facility siting are preferred.  But, those familiar with state and federal environmental and regulatory programs will also be considered.

We offer a collegial small office environment with the resources of a larger, well-branded firm.  Our associates get substantive and front-line responsibility, working directly with the firm’s shareholders, clients and technical consultants on unique and challenging environmental issues across the U.S. and globally. Join the firm that Vault has ranked for the last two consecutive years as the #1 law firm to work for in the area of Environmental Law.

The position will support work primarily arising out of the Northwest, with opportunities to assist with related national matters as well.  The candidate should be enterprising and have a strong desire to become a leader in the field of environmental law.

Candidates must have the following qualifications:

•             J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials;

•             Status as an active member in good standing of the bar in at least one state jurisdiction and ability to obtain licensure in Washington within 6 months of hire;

•             Strong analytical, research, writing and oral communication skills, organized, detailed, work well under deadline, creative thinker, multitasker, and have the ability to assume significant client responsibilities; and

•             Experience with, or demonstrated interest in, the major environmental law statutes, such as the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and CERCLA.

In addition, experience with or interest in zoning and land use permitting and/or litigation is a plus.

Beveridge & Diamond has more than 100 lawyers in eight U.S. offices.  It is a top-ranked environmental law firm, and helps clients around the world resolve critical environmental, natural resource, project development, and sustainability issues relating to their facilities, products, and operations.  The firm has been named to the National Law Journal’s “Midsize Hot List”.  U.S. News-Best Lawyers rates the firm as a Tier 1 nationwide firm for Environmental Law and Environmental Litigation.  Chambers USA Guide to the Legal Profession lists the firm among national leaders in Environmental practices.

Qualified applicants are invited to submit a cover letter, resume, transcript, and writing sample to Lindy Resh, Attorney Recruitment Manager, at legalrecruiting@bdlaw.com. Applicants only; no third-party solicitations.
