The Workers’ Compensation Bureau seeks an attorney for its Belleville (East Saint Louis) office. The Bureau defends the State of Illinois in workers’ compensation claims filed by State employees on arbitration and review. In addition, the Bureau prosecutes employers under the Illinois Workers' Compensation Act for failure to maintain workers’ compensation insurance coverage for employees and defends claims filed against the Second Injury Fund and the Rate Adjustment Fund. The Bureau also provides advice to State agencies on the Workers’ Compensation Act.
Salaries are commensurate with experience and start at $73,548. Applicants must be licensed in Illinois at the time of application.
