GENERAL PURPOSE This position is responsible for the development of financial reporting in support of the firms key strategic efforts. Business Intelligence Designers will use their experience and knowledge of business intelligence solutions to move projects from the conceptual stage to completion, collaborating with coworkers across the firm. In addition, they will serve as a team and firm resource, educating others on best practices in data visualization. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation. Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of BI solutions which may be dashboards, reports, utilities, or other formats. Work closely with customers to understand business needs and design solutions that will be used to make sound business decisions. Translate complex financial concepts into easily understood business metrics and create compelling, dynamic visuals. Educate peers on the financial concepts displayed in their work products. Understand and communicate BI best practices, establish standards, and influence others to respect and maintain those standards. Maintain knowledge of firm and industry trends and drivers of decision making. Provide higher-level analytic support for our Financial Operations Help Desk by scoping requests and working with help desk and other analysts to provide quality customer service and results. Perform other duties, as assigned. Be present at work during regularly scheduled working hours and as needed in the position, consistent with the firms attendance expectations. TRAVEL This position may require minimal travel. SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED Significant experience working with Power BI and a solid understanding of the DAX programming language. Proven knowledge in the use of financial metrics to drive decision making. Good interpersonal skills for working with team members as well as our customers with the capacity to listen to customer needs and respond accordingly. Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of firm management and across administrative groups and ability to influence decisions in those areas and maintain positive working relationships. Strategic thinking skills for assessing needs and recommending changes. Excellent communication skills and motivated to help others succeed. Goal oriented and willing to take ownership of projects and processes. Able to work with minimal management intervention and remain task driven and able to drive results. Must remain educated on firm and legal industry trends and be able to understand how those fit into current projects. SPECIFIC SKILLS PREFERRED Experience working with business intelligence tools, such as Power BI, Cognos, and Tableau. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Five plus years working in Financial Analysis with at least two years working with data visualization applications (Power BI, Tableau, Cognos). Bachelors degree in Finance, Statistics, Data Science or a related field, or an equivalent mix of training and experience. Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional teams. Prior law firm experience a plus.
