GENERAL PURPOSE Responsible for the input and maintenance of key Client and Matter finance and billing information. Provide project support to the Financial Operations Supervisor. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation. Responsible for setup and maintenance of custom rate agreements at the request of the legal staff, e-billing, billing, and pricing groups. Review client engagements and guidelines for billing and collection of related agreements. Coordinate rate pricing arrangements among various departments within the firm. Utilize firms proprietary software to implement client pricing arrangements. Generate and compile various complicated/involved statistical reports using various software tools. Provide research regarding attorney and client statistics. Coordinate the creation and application of various task code sets as requested by legal staff. Answer inquiries by telephone and email, conferring with lawyers and legal staff regarding client/matter setups, content, concerns, and requests when appropriate. Perform special technical projects as requested by Financial Operations Supervisor. Provide technical assistance, training, and policy guidance to billing team regarding client/matter set-up and maintenance. Always maintain and demonstrate a positive attitude, serving as an extension of the management team. Serve as a mentor to junior staff. Be present at work during regularly scheduled working hours and as needed in the job position, consistent with the Firms attendance expectations. SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED Strong written and oral communication skills. Fluency in standard accounting/billing procedures. Strong attention to detail, efficient organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task. Ability to perform well under pressures of heavy volumes and requests and execute assignments with virtually no direction. Thorough knowledge of the intake, billing, and accounts receivable policies and procedures. Familiarity with standard databases and/or accounting software applications. Elite 3E accounting software experience preferred. Ability to accurately type 40-wpm and use a ten key by touch. Working knowledge of MS Office applications, specifically Excel and Word. Knowledgeable in electronic client billing. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Requires an Associate degree and five to seven years of related experience including business intake, billing, and/or accounting experience in a professional services firm, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
