Under the direction of the IP Docketing Team Supervisors, the Docketing Assistant will assist the Trademark and Patent Docketing Specialists to ensure that firm docket entries are processed accurately and in a timely fashion. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation. Responsible for coordinating with the docketing specialists with minimal supervision, including the following functions: Oversight of high-volume inbound and outbound mailensuring all patent and trademark mail is processed, scanned, and delivered in a timely manner to make filing deadlines. Printing and filing high volumes of hard-copy documentation (e.g., certificates). USPTO declaring with DMS. Integrate with other members of the IP docketing teams. Coordinate support of patent and trademark docketing services and build close relationships between the IP docketing team members and the attorneys, paralegals, and business professionals they support firm-wide. Be present at work during regularly scheduled working hours and as needed in the job position, consistent with the firm's attendance expectations. May be asked to perform additional duties or complete projects as firm needs require. SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED Ability to manage multiple details and prioritize. Capacity to function effectively as part of a team and also work independently. Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment, with superb attention to detail. Ability to interact with all levels of firm personnel with professionalism. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Functional knowledge of standard MS Office applications. Familiarity with standard office equipment. Good time management and prioritization skills. Ability to take instruction. SPECIFIC SKILLS PREFERRED Database experience preferred. Experience working in an office environment. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE An associate degree and/or 1-year of related law firm experience preferred. Experience with Adobe Acrobat Professional is a plus. Entry level will be considered.
