GENERAL PURPOSE The primary responsibility of the Marketing Coordinator is to provide support for the marketing and business development objectives of the Corporate Law practice in conjunction with the Senior Marketing Manager and Marketing Manager responsible for corporate practice sub-groups, including Emerging Companies & Venture Capital, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Private Equity among others. This position will also require collaboration with broader practice teams regarding specific department-wide initiatives. A day in the life of the Marketing Coordinator will include event coordination and management, pitch and proposal support, overseeing the practices experience tracking process, content development, social media coordination, CRM management, and other activities. A successful candidate will be a forward-thinker who takes the initiative to ask questions and who takes ownership of projects from start to finish. This position may require some overnight travel. LOCATIONS: Chicago or Seattle ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation. Interact directly with attorneys and assigned Marketing Managers to provide support on marketing and business development initiatives Coordinate meeting and event logistics, including invitation development, tracking RSVPs, catering, venue coordination, advertising, mailing list updates, audio-visual needs, entertainment, signage, swag development, shipping of collateral and promotional items, processing payments and supporting documents, and measuring return on investment (ROI) Support on-site events by setting up booth materials and networking with attendees to effectively explain our service offerings Assist in the development of pitches and proposals to attract new clients and increase revenue Coordinate surveys and award submissions Assist with blogs, podcasts, client updates, and other external thought leadership initiatives Run experience tracking and client reports, including research exercises in Pitchbook Maintain and update client relationship management databases, including associated email distribution lists Collaborate with colleagues in other vertical marketing groups, including the Events Team, Proposals Team, Content Team, Design, PR, Storytelling, and the Marketing Help Desk, among others PREFERRED SKILLS Event and project management experience Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage tasks with competing deadlines Clear and effective communication in meetings, presentations, email communication, and marketing materials Social media experience (Twitter and LinkedIn preferred) Ability to be proactive, responsive, and to understand the importance of delivering exceptional service to both clients and colleagues Creative thinker who is eager to learn new things Ability to work with all levels of personnel and to do so diplomatically Successful team player Meticulous with an eye for detail Ability to source, understand, and analyze data Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel Experience with CRM tools is preferred EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing or Communication. 2 plus years of professional services marketing experience preferred.
