GENERAL PURPOSE The ideal candidate will support the marketing and business development objectives for the Business practice in collaboration with the Senior Marketing Manager for the practice. Responsibilities include drafting marketing plans, managing events and sponsorships, developing marketing materials, assembling awards submissions, providing proposal support, maintaining databases and mailing lists, facilitating targeting initiatives, and increasing visibility through client-facing events, and public relations, as well as other activities. Ability to collaborate with others in the marketing department to provide efficient and effective client service is essential. Remote work is supported for this role provided the applicant resides in or near the following cities: Austin Boise Chicago Dallas Denver Los Angeles New York Phoenix Portland San Diego San Francisco Seattle Washington, DC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation. Marketing Support for Assigned Practice Groups Build and sustain trusted marketing adviser relationships with practice attorneys and key stakeholders, including partners who require dedicated support on key projects. Develop an in-depth understanding of assigned practice groups by tracking market (including key clients), competitive and business intelligence using various tools, and leveraging internal and external resources. Monitor practice news to flag client/target developments or notable practice developments. Build relationships with external organizations relevant to the practice. Work with the Senior Marketing Manager to develop marketing and business development plans. Monitor and report progress on the plans against defined metrics. Collaborate with the broader marketing team to execute on identified initiatives. Plan, organize, manage, and host practice events. Manage all aspects of events, including concept, budget and agenda development, creating targeting lists, drafting invitation language, sending and tracking invitations and RSVPs, as well as measuring ROI and client feedback. Work in collaboration with members of the Events team to execute events effectively. Coordinate responses to practice rankings and submissions. Manage external and internal communications, including client updates, blogs, practice-specific campaigns, and newsletters. Work with the PR team for earned media opportunities. Provide dedicated proposal support and help develop practice-focused marketing materials. Work with the Proposal team on larger proposals and RFPs. Draft, update, and maintain marketing materials and promote the process for building and maintaining experience lists within Foundation. Handling day-to-day requests and support general ongoing efforts of the practice. Supervision of people If applicable, manage and mentor marketing staff and oversee personnel issues, workload, and development. Contribute to those individuals professional growth by encouraging participation in targeted professional development opportunities. Serve as a role model, setting professional standards, for both the department and junior staff members. Work with direct reports to establish and support achievement of performance goals that are aligned with both the firms and the marketing departments priorities and objectives. Gather feedback from internal customers and colleagues and share with direct reports to ensure continuous improvement of client service. Collaborate across the marketing department to ensure transparency, knowledge-sharing, increased team efficiencies, and to maximize the firms resources. SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED Strong abilities in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word. Strong project management skills to efficiently manage multiple projects and meet the needs of key stakeholders. Ability to work with all levels of personnel and diplomatically interact with difficult personalities. General understanding of the law profession business model. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience. A minimum of six years of experience in legal or professional services preferred. A general understanding of law is valuable, and project management, and event planning experience is beneficial. This position may be filled in Colorado or New York. These ranges are specific to Colorado and New York, depending on qualification and experience and may not be applicable to other locations. Colorado compensation range: $74,720 to $112,500 annually, New York compensation range: $86,700 to $130,590 annually. Perkins Coie may provide a discretionary bonus annually and information regarding benefits can be found here.
