The Marketing Specialist will support the marketing and business development objectives of the New York offices. Responsibilities include drafting marketing plans, managing events and sponsorships, developing marketing materials, assembling awards submissions, maintaining databases and mailing lists, conducting market research, facilitating targeting initiatives, and increasing visibility through public relations and advertising as well as other activities. Additionally, the candidate will collaborate with the practice and industry marketing teams on marketing initiatives taking place in New York. Essential Functions These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation. Build and sustain trusted marketing adviser relationships with Office Managing Partners and key stakeholders. Develop an in-depth understanding of assigned markets. Monitor industry news to flag client/target developments or notable industry developments. Build relationships with external organizations relevant to the market. Work with Office Managing Partners to develop marketing and business development plans. Collaborate with the broader marketing team to execute on identified initiatives. Monitor and report progress on the plans against defined metrics. Plan, organize, manage, and host events, ranging from small, intimate events to large-scale receptions. Manage all aspects of events including concept, timeline, budget and agenda development, creating targeting lists, drafting invitation language, sending and tracking invitations and RSVPs, as well as measuring ROI and gathering client feedback. Coordinate sponsorships and memberships. Track clients/prospects in Salesforce. Conduct research and gather information for surveys, nominations; coordinate responses to submissions. Support targeting initiatives to increase business and cross-selling capabilities within internal and external marketplaces. Work with the PR team for earned media opportunities. Manage budgets related to marketing expenses and gain required approvals as necessary. Specific Skills Required Strong abilities in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word and strong abilities in Salesforce. Must be detail-oriented with excellent customer service skills and ability to prioritize. Strong project management skills to efficiently manage multiple projects and meet the needs of key stakeholders. Ability to work with all levels of personnel and diplomatically interact with difficult personalities. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. General understanding of the law profession business model. Problem solver. Successful team player. Strong people skills. Education and Experience Bachelors degree or equivalent required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in legal or professional services preferred. Project management and event planning experience is beneficial. Working Environment This position will work in a hybrid environment while based out of our New York City office. This position will require travel when safe to do so. This position may be filled in New York City. In accordance with the New York City Human Rights Law, the base salary range in New York City for this position is $73,950 to $109,880 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. This range is specific to New York City and may not be applicable to other locations. The compensation for this position may also include a discretionary annual bonus.
