GENERAL PURPOSE Perkins Coie Seattle is seeking an experienced Meeting & Events Manager to lead national teams and produce, high-impact, in-person and virtual events for internal employees. The ideal candidate is driven, results oriented professional with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must be passionate about crafting new and inventive experiences to delight attendees and foster meaningful connections. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS This position will serve as a liaison to external, internal, operational and senior leadership teams. Coordination of tasks associated with the planning and implementation of meetings and events include, but are not limited to: Superb attention to detail and follow-through required. Effectively lead, drive and motivate multiple national project teams with technical and non-technical functions. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met, within budget, and aligned to the needs of the firm and the strategic direction. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and diplomacy, combined with the ability to build strong working relationships. Meaningful participation in the firm's environment, technical processes, tools, and procedures. Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain event and technical concepts to non-event/technical personnel. Must be able to understand business goals and requirements and translate into functional specifications and projects. Knowledge of legal industry must be sufficient to seek out solutions that fit within the firm's environment and address needs. Strong interpersonal influence skills, including, motivating, delegating, listening, and relationship-building. SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry equivalent software tools such as Cvent, CrowdCompass, SmartSheet, videoconferencing and streaming platforms. Successfully perform in high stress, fast-paced environment and accepts changes with short notice, critical feedback and frequent interruptions. Present during scheduled working hours and as needed in the job position, consistent with the Firm's attendance expectations. Knowledge of hospitality and travel industry terminology, rules and programs. Ability to analyze complex information and summarize in a concise formatted recommendation. Comfortable presenting to groups and being on camera. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Requires a bachelors degree or masters degree and at least six years of prior experience in event management for a professional corporation. Proven experience planning and supporting virtual, hybrid and multi-day programs. Certified Meeting Professional designation preferred.
