GENERAL PURPOSE The Microsoft Collaboration Solutions Engineer will help drive our platform strategy for our Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, and Power platforms. The engineer will design, develop, maintain, and support the firms Microsoft 365 (M365) platform including SharePoint Online, SharePoint Server 2016, Teams, Power Apps/Automate, and associated third-party applications. This includes developing and supporting custom solutions built on the M365 platforms. The engineer will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, assess feasibility, and if necessary, collaborate with other platform owners to develop a solution. The engineer will work collaboratively with others within the Technology Department to ensure the platform is managed in accordance with the firms standards for data and security. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation. Act as the platform owner for SharePoint, Teams, and Power Automate. This includes establishing roadmaps, administering and maintaining the platform, managing security, and resolving issues. Use, maintain, and support third-party applications such as Aderant Handshake, ShareGate, and Intapp Workspaces (Resptor) that are used to extend and support the platform. Partner with the Technology Department and business leadership to identify priorities and project initiatives consistent with the firms strategic plan and roadmaps. Work with all levels of the business to understand and assess their business requirements and determine the optimal, cost-effective solution consistent with their requirements. This may not always be the M365 platform. Assist with the administration, maintenance, and support of the firm intranet. Create technical documentation for solutions and procedures. Stay current on M365 capabilities and roadmap by regularly engaging with Microsoft, attending seminars, training, etc. Perform other duties, as assigned. Be present at work during regularly scheduled working hours and as needed in the position, consistent with the firms attendance expectations. TRAVEL This position may require occasional travel to Perkins Coie offices, vendors, or conferences. SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED Experience building SharePoint applications including web parts, workflows, and third-party interfaces. Advanced knowledge of using the M365 platform to produce practical solutions for business needs. Strong technical problem-solving that can adeptly administer, support, and maintain a hybrid (on-premises and cloud) SharePoint system. Advanced knowledge of SharePoint security including permissions and guest access management. Ability to create and debug automated workflows using Power Automate. Ability to create and debug Power Apps solutions. Strong SharePoint PowerShell module experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL. Ability to create stored procedures. Comprehensive understanding of web technologies. Knowledge level must be appropriate for both troubleshooting and administration of SharePoint. SPECIFIC SKILLS PREFERRED Experience building and supporting Power Apps solutions. Experience with interfacing M365 with ServiceNow. Working knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS. Knowledge of performance tuning and monitoring techniques. Experience with SSO, Okta preferred. Experience integrating with Azure resources. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Five plus years of experience developing and supporting SharePoint Server 2016 solutions. Two plus years of experience developing and supporting SharePoint Online solutions. Two plus years of experience developing and supporting Microsoft Teams solutions.
